This pair of socks has been designed based on the premise that Socks Shouldn’t Be Difficult. If you like to knit round things using Magic Loop, go for it. If you prefer double pointed needles, use those instead! Whatever you find to be the easiest way to handle your yarn, is most important here.

You will need: 1 skein of sock yarn, preferably with 75-80% wool, and 25-20% Nylon, and a set of 2.5mm needles. The needles can be circular, flyers, or DPNs, whichever you prefer.

The sock itself is a very straightforward construction. We start at the top with the cuffs, make the leg, construct the heel, move onto the foot, and finish at the toe. To make things even easier, the body of the sock (the leg and foot sections) is solely comprised of stockinette stitch. This is Not a Fancy Sock pattern. It is designed to help you feel at ease with knitting socks, to help you understand WHY you are doing a thing, instead of just HOW to do it.

Included with this pattern are a list of links to tutorials for stitches beginners may be unfamiliar with, as well as a copy of Sock Anatomy 101, a document which details important features of socks and their purpose.
