This is a quick and easy hat to make, using any worsted weight yarn you like. The simple style would showcase any specially dyed yarn. Economical fibers like basic cotton blends or wool and acrylics produce beautiful results as well. Great project to use up your stash and create fun color combinations.

Pattern photos show hats made with one strand solid color yarn and one strand multicolored yarn held together. You can make a solid colored hat by knitting with two strands of the same color.

Construction is seamless, knitted on a 16” circular needle, size 10.5, holding two strands of worsted weight yarn together. Gauge could also be achieved with one strand of bulky yarn. Cast on and roll edge is knit with size 9s. Decreases for top of hat may be knit with double points.

If you want a one hour project that is perfect for baby and kids’ gifts, this pattern is for you!

This pattern has been for sale at my local yarn shop and is popular with knitters who make multiple hats for gifts, their kids, grandkids and for charity.
