An article I read about Elizabeth Zimmerman knitting knee socks with a shaped arch inspired this sock. I loved the idea of a sock that fit feet with high arches especially well and set about figuring out the shaping. This sock hugs your feet. The increases and decrease used to achieve the shaping will cause self-striping yarns to form angles across the instep. Your eye will be drawn to the point at the top of the instep in a solid or semi-solid yarn. The pattern includes both charted and written instructions for the gusset and arch shaping.
