Our basic sweater is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe.
Simple and versatile to accompany you at any time of the day, at the same time it has small details that denote a particular choice of style.
Knitted in the round, it is a project suitable for those who want to make their first top-down sweater in a single piece, therefore without seams.

Overview:
Our Basic Sweater is knitted top down on circular needles, entirely in stockinette stitch that means only knit stitch will be used.
Edges are not finished and this creates a stylish raw-cut effect.
Increases are made with simple yarn over stitches along raglans.
Starting from the neckline, you work in the round until you reach the desired width, then divide stitches and put the sleeve stitches on hold. Continue working the body in the round to the desired length. Then slip sleeve stitches back to the needle and work by regularly decreasing stitches from armpit to wrist.

Suggested Yarn:
Approx. (420) 471 (525, 581, 640) gr of Drops Flora 50gr/210mt - 2 strands held together

Needles:
-16” (40 cm) circular needles in size 4 mm (US 6, UK 8). Short tips needles are recommended.
-Yoke and body: 16” (40 cm) and 32” (80 cm) / 40” (100 cm) circular needles in size 4.5 mm (US 7, UK 7).
-Sleeves: start with 16” (40 cm) in size 4.5 mm (US 7, UK 7), then change to short tips needles using magic loop method or to double pointed needles in size 4.5 mm (US 7, UK 7).

Gauge:
21 sts and 30 rows to 4”/10 cm on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles in stockinette stitch knitted in round

4 stitch markers (one in a different colour), scrap yarn or stitch holders, measuring tape, tapestry needle, row counter (optional)

Campione:
10 cm x 10 cm: 21 maglie x 30 ferri con ferri 4.5 mm (US 7) su maglia rasata lavorata in tondo
Se il tuo campione non corrisponde al nostro, prova a modificare la tensione mentre lavori oppure a cambiare la misura dei ferri.

Panoramica:
La nostra Basic Sweater è realizzata con i ferri circolari in un unico pezzo, dall’alto verso il basso.
E’ lavorata interamente a maglia rasata e ciò significa che l’unico punto utilizzato è il diritto. I bordi non sono rifiniti e questo, oltre a rendere il procedimento più semplice, crea quel particolare effetto taglio vivo che dona al capo il suo stile.
Si inizia montando le maglie del girocollo e, dopo pochi ferri a maglia rasata, si prosegue con gli aumenti che vengono realizzati con dei semplici gettati lungo i raglan.
Una volta raggiunta l’ampiezza desiderata dello sprone, dividiamo le maglie mettendo in sospeso quelle delle maniche e lavorando il corpo fino alla chiusura.
Infine, riposizioniamo le maglie delle maniche sul ferro circolare e le lavoriamo in tondo diminuendo via via le maglie dal sottomanica al polso.
