This is an easy, effective and washable cover for all regular sized Swiffers. It may be made on any machine. This is a very basic version of Swiffer sock. The other versions will explore the uses of different fabrics to do different jobs with the Swiffer. This cover will work for either wet or damp mopping.

YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
The regular sized Swiffer is 4.5X10”. This cover will fit it and any other similar flat stick mop. Any yarn may be used but cotton is recommended. For the sample, Silk City .75 cotton from Country Knitting of Maine was used at a gauge of 4 stitches/5 rows/using 5 on the dial of a Singer/Studio SK150. A chart of 8 gauges is included so that any machine and a yarn suitable to that machine may be used. No ribber is required and the simplest of machines will do the job.
