This is my new favorite go-to knitted dishcloth pattern. The basket weave texture looks great and soaks up spills or wipes down counters with unbelievable thirst.

The basket weave creates a stretchy bias which makes this dishcloth both easy to scrunch in your hand and a breeze to wring out.

You’ll need one 50 gram or 1.75 ounce skein of worsted weight cotton yarn in any single color.

Variegated yarns don’t work very well with this textured pattern.

Gauge is essentially unimportant; just pick how many repetitions you wish to knit to establish the desired width and knit to the desired height.
