Basketweave Moebius Scarf
This is a cosy scarf designed as a totally seamless Moebius Loop that has only one surface and one edge. The simple basket weave pattern creates a dense fabric for warmth and gives a beautiful drape. The scarf should fit twice around the neck quite snugly to keep you nice and warm or can be worn as a shoulder wrap as well.
The Moebius is worked from the middle outwards and uses a special (but not difficult) cast on, a wonderful video tutorial by Cat Bordhin is available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVnTda7F2V4
A Moebius scarf ideally needs a totally reversible pattern because it doesn’t have a front or back side. The basket weave pattern works well with a soft yarn or loose gauge to achieve a nice drape. The Rowan Lima yarn I used is a pleasure to knit with because it’s so soft.
