Calls for 1 oz. 4-ply yarn, and scraps of chenille and mohair.
Requires thin wire for structure.

“Wear this bat on the shoulder or on the head as a simply sensational hat. The wide-spreading wings are made in one piece and the upper and under body are sewn on afterward. The whole bat is wired so that it can be molded to the required shape.”

The wings are knitted side-to-side, with welts to hold the wires. The body is knitted separately in furry yarn and sewn on top. Ears and nose and not separate pieces, but pinched off and sewn.
