Not suitable for beginners, but it is an easy to follow pattern for those a little more advanced.

This is a compact backpack which opens out to be a larger weekender bag, big enough for those essentials! As you will see from the photos, it is big enough for everyday essentials like ipad/books etc when using the magnets on the sides.

Materials and equipment

Yarn I used : Black stylecraft DK acrylic, Black aran acrylic and Purple aran acrylic
Purple aran : approx 300 metres (worsted weight)
Black aran approx 300 metres (worsted weight)
Black DK was only used for the head/ears and strap

Crochet hook: 4mm and 5mm

Other equipment: Scissors, tapestry needles (both sharp and blunt preferable), stitch markers, fabric clips (or clothes pegs)

Other materials: stuffing for head, 3 x magnets (18mm) for the bag closure, plastic canvas sheet (optional)
20mm nose and 18mm eyes (optional) These can be embroidered if preferred
