This is a wonderful pattern that can be very freeing if you are used to following the pattern exactly as it is written.

This cowl is meant to be worked on while watching a baseball game. As each team is retired during the game, you will stop the current stitch and change to the next stitch listed. Due to the fact that everyone works at a different pace and you may choose to work the design during different games, everyone’s cowl will be 100% unique. (See the pattern for full details.)

The Rules:

  1. The cast on and setup round should be worked prior to the start of the game.
  2. No frogging of stitches is allowed. If you make a mistake (working the wrong stitch) it is a design enhancement. The only exception to this rule is for a dropped stitch.
  3. No stitch markers will be used. However the use of one is optional on knit garter stitch pattern rounds only.
  4. As each team comes up to bat, you must STOP the current stitch pattern and proceed to the next stitch pattern. NO FINISHING THE ROUND.
  5. Take a break from your knitting or crocheting as the teams switch fields or even for an entire batting order, just pick up with the next stitch pattern in order. Be sure to stretch occasionally to prevent injuries (just like the players coming up to bat).

Pattern includes both Knit and Crochet versions.
