bawi poncho
A voluminous, woolly poncho knitted in the thick, fuzzy Hyrdegarn from Hjelholt Uldspinderi. The Bawi Poncho features the beautiful ribbed details characteristic of the Bawi Sweater, with the ribbing flowing uninterrupted from the neckline down across the body and shoulders. Finally, the poncho is turned inside out to make the ribbed details stand out even more.
CONSTRUCTION
Bawi Poncho is worked top-down. First, the high funnel neck is worked in 2 x 2 ribbing, then the work is separated into four rib panels with stockinette sections between them. Increases are worked along the sides of these panels around the shoulders and at mid-front and mid-back. The poncho is worked in the round throughout and can be knitted using a single colour or with stripes. The work is turned inside out at the end, so that the side with the most purl stitches faces outward.
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
Intermediate.
