This pattern for simple leaves includes three sizes. The 2x1 rib helps the leaf to lie flat, and gives the appearance of veins. I thought they ended up looking like bay leaves, so I decided to call them that.

The pattern uses a various left- and right-leaning increases and decreases, so it can be a good project for practicing these techniques.

Yarn Requirements: Small amounts of scrap yarn
Yarn Weight: Fingering or sport
Gauge: 40 stitches and 40 rows = 4 in x 4 in, 2x1 rib
Finished Sizes:
Small – 2 ¼ in x 1 ½ in (5.7 cm x 3.8 cm)
Medium – 4 in x 2 in (10 cm x 5 cm)
Large – 5 ¾ in x 2 ¼ in (14.6 cm x 5.7 cm)
