The Bay Shawlette is worked flat in a pointelle lace pattern from the widest edge and tapered with two options at the end for: (1) a slightly rounded edge or (2) a pointed tip for triangular-shaped shawlette. It is finished with a crochet frill border. The sample is knitted on fingering-weight yarn but the shawlette can be adapted to various gauges. The pattern can also be adapted to smaller or wider dimensions by removing or adding pattern repeats - to ensure the 19 stitch repeat remains centered, remove or add stitches in multiples of 38 stitches from the total number of cast-on stitches.
