The Bayland Cowl is knit in a rustic worsted (Independence by SpinCycle Yarns) in the Rusted Rainbow colorway. The occasional slipped stitches break up this self striping colorway to blend color and texture.

The pattern uses knit, purl, and slipped stitches. This cowl is knit in the round using circular needles and can be worked to your preferred width. The stitches used are a nice balance of knit and purl, so the cowl will not fold, roll, or otherwise misbehave.

Gauge is not essential to this pattern. The sample is worked in US size 7 needles (4.5 mm), but adjusting up or a down a needle size, as you prefer, will work fine.

This pattern has been independently reviewed be a qualified technical editor and test knit. The Bayland Cowl pattern includes written instructions and a clear, professional design layout. Measurements are provided in both English and metric units.

You can read more about this design and others on my blog where I prattle on endlessly about knitting at This Knitted Life.
