My husband’s favourite activity in the summer is barbecuing, and one day he suggested that I design a barbecue dishcloth, thus this pattern came to be!! There’s not much left of summer where we live in central British Columbia, but those down under, like Tunie, have summer on the way.

Many thanks to Tunie for taking the time from her current work in progress to test knit this pattern for me. I don’t know what I would do without you, Peacockmom.

My finished cloth measures 9”W x 8 3/4”H and weighs 40 gr. Basic skills of cast on and cast off are needed, as well as knit and purl. To make the ‘knobs’ kfbf as well knowing how to pass one stitch over another are skills needed. Not to worry, there are only 4 knobs, so it’s not a lot of work!

For best results knitting ‘picture’ dishcloths, use a size or two smaller needle than you usually would for the given yarn, choose a solid colour yarn and block your finished dishcloth.
