The Be Bold cardigan is worked flat on straight needles. This means you knit five separate pieces (back, left front, right front and two sleeves) and these are seamed together at the end. Knitting the cardigan with seams in this way gives the finished piece form and structure. Fully fashioned, mirrored increases and decreases are used to add finesse, detail and a professional finish. The garter stitch front bands are worked by picking up stitches along the front pieces with simple eyelet button holes worked on one side. The pockets are added last by picking up stitches along the front pieces, knitting the pockets and then sewing the sides down.
