CONSTRUCTION
After casting on and joining in the round, knit several rows, and then pick up and knit the cast-on edge with the next round, to create a welt for the hat band. Then, do a basic, visually-guided slip-stitch pattern to create the spoked appearance in the rise. Shape the crown with a basic 2-stitch decrease before bind off.

This cap takes about 6 hours to complete, as shown.

SIZING & SHAPING
There are 5 sizes, ranging from 14 inches/35 cm to 22 inches/55 cm at the band, and rising 8 inches/20 cm to 9 inches/23 cm to span the rise and the crown.

The sample pictured is a 20” band size, worn with 2” of negative ease, and used about 55 grams of yarn (more of the main than the contrast).

Since the yarn comes in skeins of 100 grams, this cap can be lengthened and made more slouchy if desired, with no risk of running out of yarn.
