This high-waisted skirt is worked side to side for the ribbed waist, and then in rounds for the shells of the skirt body. The unique shells give the illusion of being worked on the bias, but they aren’t!

People often ask me, “How do you WEAR crocheted skirts?” Well, there are a LOT of ways to style them. My daughter and I usually wear leggings (short or long) under our skirts. You can also wear a slip or a tight knit skirt under. If you’re really fancy, you can sew a cotton lining into your skirt! This is also a great one to wear at the beach or pool as a swimsuit cover up!

Materials
• Any worsted weight (4) yarn (cotton or cotton blend works well)
• 5.5mm, I hook
• 2, 3, or 4-- ½” or ¾” buttons
• Needle for weaving in ends

NOTE: This pattern calls for a waistband with NEGATIVE ease. That means that you’ll want to STRETCH the yarn to fit around your waist. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a waistband that keeps growing and growing as you wear it!

The skirt sizes from baby 12 mos all the way up to ANY women’s size and length. Directions are given within the pattern to customize this pattern to any waist. As the skirt can be made to ANY length, you’ll want to estimate and buy your yarn accordingly.

Waist Measurements & Yardage Estimations
Note: Yardage will depend on how long you make your skirt. These estimates are generous.

For adults:
For the model pictured: 34” waist, 23.5” long = 980 total yards.
Estimates are based on the 23.5” length:
28” waist: 810 yards 42” waist: 1210 yards
30” waist: 865 yards 46” waist: 1330 yards
38” waist: 1100 yards 50” waist: 1445 yards
Keep in mind that you are not limited to these waist sizes. Theses measurements and yardages are merely given to help you estimate your yarn needed.
