This shawl was designed for variegated yarns in mind. The garter stitch rows and simple elegant lace panel along the bottom will show of striping or pooling well. There is an option in the pattern to use up the entire yardage of your special skein by weighing the yarn, knitting until half of your yarn is used up, then beginning decreases.

It is the perfect pattern for a beginner knitter and a great pattern for those who want begin reading lace charts, because the chart is very simple.
