I live just 5 minutes walk from the beaches of Barry Island, on the south coast of Wales. With three children and a water-loving Labrador, many of my happiest memories are of time spent together on the sand, having a paddle and a picnic. The main beach has two rows of brightly-painted beach huts which were begging to be made into a sock design!

There are some simple stripes, and just 5 rounds of very easy colourwork, making these socks a great introduction to stranded knitting. They include mirrored heel flaps to ensure any jogs in your work are hidden on the inside of your leg. I have included links to tutorials for jogless stripes and kitchener stitch in the pattern.

I would love to see your finished Beach Hut Socks, so if you post a picture of them on social media, please use #beachhutsocks
