A wonderfully chunky and textural blanket, sure to keep you warm and cosy on cool summer nights and brisk winter evenings.

This pattern is knitted flat on a circular needle, back and forth. Although a crochet hook is recommended in the materials no crocheting is carried out. If you do not have a crochet hook you can get creative and use something else to hook the yarn when it comes to making the border.

The chunky effect is created by holding the yarn double so don’t be put off that DK yarn is used.

You will require:

  • 100cm x 6mm circular needle
  • Darning needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • 6mm(J) crochet hook (optional)

The following yarn is used to create the Beachcomber Blanket:

Stylecraft Special DK - Pale Rose x 2 100g, 295m
Stylecraft Special DK - Cornish Blue x 2 100g, 295m
Stylecraft Special DK - Sage x 2 100g, 295m

This can be substituted for an alternative DK yarn providing the meterage per ball is in excess of 295m.

I hope you enjoy your making!
