This is a pattern I designed to teach two methods of beading. One beading method is useful for lace knitting and the other method is best for solid stockingnette. I wanted something simple enough to finish while introducing how to bead.

While exploring the many methods of adding beads I discovered that beads often poked through to the wrong side and sometimes left holes alongside the bead. The method introduced in the pattern will stay on the surface of the knitting when knitting to gauge.

These wrist cuffs can easily be knit in a evening or two and make great gifts. I get great reactions from people whenever I wear them. They look nice with a professional look, a dressy look as well as with casual wear. I like the extra warmth when mittens (two pairs for me) and coats aren’t enough to keep my wrists warm. The white pair is knit with clear transparent beads. I like them because they sparkle like drops of water. The blue cuffs are made with hematite beads which are smaller than the size 6 recommended in the pattern. I also recommend using the beading bowls to learn to add many beads quickly. This is especially useful when knitting projects with huge amounts of beads. All of this is explained in the pattern. There are videos on You Tube showing how to use the hooked needle and spinning a bowl.

The pattern is presented to enable you to change the size of your cuff to fit your wrist or a different gauge.

Have fun.
