A simple triangle shawl, worked flat from the top with alternating sections of stockinette and texture, separated by garter stitch eyelet rows. A perfect choice for your first shawl project; the texture pattern is straightforward and intuitive, using just knit and purl stitches. Plus, the regular alternating between sections keeps the knitting process interesting and prevents you getting lost in the black hole of shawl knitting.

The sample is knit in a 100% cotton because I love the drape you get from cotton yarns, but feel free to switch things up by using a different fibre. The design would also work perfectly with a wool yarn, making it even more cosy for the colder months.
