I had so much fun making these beanies (and more). It doesn’t take much worsted weight yarn to create one, so go through your stash and go crazy! The beanie is knit in the round, so either use a short (12-16”) circular needle, the magic loop method if using a longer needle, or double-pointed needles - whatever is the most comfortable for you!

The beanie is stretchy; the circumference with stretch approximately 2-3 inches around baby’s head. You might want to use cotton yarn for a warm weather beanie and acrylic yarn for the colder months. I always use yarn that can be easily machine washed and dried for all those busy parents!

Four sizes are included in the pattern: 0-3mo., 4-6mo., 7-9mo., and 10-18mo.

Finished Measurements:
0-3mo.: Circumference 13.5” and height 4.5”
4-6mo.: Circumference 14.75” and height 5.25”
7-9mo.: Circumference 14.75” and height 6.25”
10-18mo.: Circumference 16” and height 6.25”

The model is wearing the 10-18mo. size and is 14 months old. You can adjust the pattern with more stitches and more or fewer rounds to fit your baby’s head.

The pattern can be downloaded immediately from ravelry. It is also available on etsy.com (shop- Route45).

Happy knitting!
