Make an adorable plushie bear bag with this crochet pattern! This bag has a zipper closure, and is fully lined. It can hold a small phone (5.6 inches tall max) and a small wallet, plus some small essentials like keys and lip balm. The bear bag measures about 7.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches tall (not including ears), and uses a combination of fabric glue (optional) and hand stitching to construct the bag. You can make it without the lining, it’s very sturdy even without it.

Pattern level: Experienced. The crochet itself is simple, but the texture of the yarn makes it difficult to put together. The lining and zipper also increase the difficulty. This definitely isn’t for beginners.

Sizes included: one size, about 7.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches tall (not including ears)

Materials needed:

  • super bulky (weight 6) plush yarn
  • worsted (weight 4) yarn for the nose & mouth embroidery
  • 8mm hook
  • yarn needle
  • small bit of stuffing
  • 9 inch zipper
  • sewing thread & needle, plus clips
  • fabric glue (optional, can sew everything instead)
  • .5 inch domed buttons for eyes
  • fabric & an iron
  • materials for a strap
