Bear. One of the main symbols of Siberia. The bear is called “Medved” in Russian. This word can be translated as: one who knows honey. Yes, he is a big fan of sweet berries and honey, but he is also by far the most powerful and fearsome wild beast of Siberia. They are the embodiment of all nature in one being. I appreciate and love these animals so much that I would like to hug them the way a mother hugs her children. There are a lot of bears in the places where I come from. This is very unlikely, but I have often imagined what would happen if I met a bear in the woods… Of course, this would be the most terrible event in my life. I would have sped off so fast that I would have jumped out of my clothes. So I sacrifice these balls of yarn and all our work so that this meeting will never happen. :) Oh spirits of the forest I ask you to accept this sacrifice and I thank you for giving me so much inspiration. Amen :)

The product was tested in Instagram, my permanent group of testers. All works of my testers are placed (with their permission) on this page. According to the pattern, more than a fifty products are already knited. Most of them can be viewed in Instagram under the tag #bear_lopy or #bear_lopy_kids. On this hashtags you can find interesting color combinations. And use hashtag #bear_lopy on Instagram to share your beautiful Bear Lopapeysa projects, and to be inspired by what others have knit. :)

More about the pattern:

  1. The pattern contains a textual description of all product fragments except yoke. The yoke has a description in form of the scheme and symbols, the principles of their application, as well as the techniques that will make the yoke neat. Each size has a separate scheme. Cope even quite beginners (it’s tested). In addition, the translation of pattern into English is very detailed and accurate. (All dimensions are given in Imperial measurement system and metric system too)
  2. In the text of the pattern there are links to my videos on YouTube (audio is in Russian, but everything is clear without audio), they describe in detail the difficult moments in the work.
  3. Lopapeysa is worked seamlessly in the round in one piece from the top down. First, the circular yoke is worked in stranded knitting, after which sleeves and body of the garment are worked in stockinette stitch.
  4. The product have positive ease as it should be lopapeysa. Warm, and not at all prickly.
  5. Sweaters related to you personally using your manual labor can be sold on any public sites and social networks :) Tag me on your photos I love to look at Your works and share them on my Instagram.
