Beatrice Pullover is an oversized, lightweight pullover featuring the Better Be Bricks slip-stitch pattern. Different yarn qualities are held together and gradually added to create a play between transparency, texture and denser areas.
The design is worked flat in separate pieces and seamed. The simple construction lets the changing materials and the geometric stitch pattern take centre stage.
The open sections gradually develop from linen alone to combinations of linen, mohair and a fine metallic thread — an example of my Quiet Addition method, where small changes in material and structure slowly transform the knitted surface.
