Beauty Queen
Beauty Queen is a half circle-shaped shawl that dances between easy stockinette sections, bold crowns, and delicate mohair lace.
Inspired by the queen herself Miss Emma – This design captures the feeling of being light and graceful in movement - which I think simply describes her! ♥
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
This pattern was designed to carry a mohair yarn along with a fingering yarn through most of the shawl which gives this an extremely light and fluffy appearance. The finished piece is large, yet light, and honestly one of the coziest things I have truly ever knit.
If you have a mohair sensitivity I recommend replacing the mohair with Emma’s Yarn Splendid Singles which will provide a beautiful luster and delicate appearance.
-This is a line by line written pattern with charts for the two easy lace sections

English Mesh Lace Mohair Chart
The chart rows were mislabelled
Row 163 should say Row 161
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
Yarn: 2 different colorways in fingering weight, 400 yards each and 2 skeins mohair if carrying yarn all the way through or 1 skein if only using mohair in lace sections
I used: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
C1: Beauty Queen - 380 yards
C2: Yellow Submarine - 375 yards
Emma’s Yarn Marvelous Mohair (72% Kid mohair/ 28% Silk, 459yards/50grams)
M: Himalayan Salt - 700 yards
or 300 yards if you choose to only use the mohair in the two lace sections.
Mohair Sub- Emma’s Yarn Splendid Singles (100% Superwash Merino, 400 yards/100grams) 300 yards
THERE ARE KITS TOO! check out all these amazing color combinations Four Purls Yarn Store has put together!!! (pssst- have I told you how they have lightning fast shipping)
Needles: US 6/3.75mm 32” circular needles and any 7/4.0mm for bind off
Notions: Stitch Marker, T-pins and flexible blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 16 stitches = 4 inches in Garter Stitch after blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished size: 29” deep by 67” long
♥️♥️♥️Thank you to my Testers for being so wonderful and knitting the most beautiful Beauty Queen Shawls ever!!!!!
