Beaver Fever
When my sister asked me if I could make a grey beaver for her friend’s 50th birthday I just could not resist making her into a pattern, too!
Use your imagination and I’m sure you could come up with any number of little sign ideas for your beaver!
I gave these beavers their own little floof of fur on their foreheads with surface crocheted fur yarn. You could put a floof elsewhere if so inclined and put a sign to trim your beaver. HA! So many options!
I figured this pattern wouldn’t be complete without a young’un beaver so I found fur yarn with no grey in it, too.
This pattern is so low sew you won’t believe it!
I used Big Twist Posh for the grey beaver with a 5.5 mm hook and it is about 7” tall.
The brown beaver uses Parfait Chunky with a 5.5 mm hook and is slightly smaller at 6.5” .
I used 26 mm round safety eyes and a little square of felt for the teeth. It is held in place with black mercerized cotton yarn and a little dab of glue. You could crochet a little square of teeth instead.
The fur is some random fur I happened to have. I have no idea of the name brand but it is 3 stranded and I broke it down and used 1 strand.
I actually whittled a stick from the backyard for the little beaver.
I used wood look scrapbook paper and lamination for the sign. I used a regular printer for the words.
All of my patterns are tested on Instagram. Check out my page to see their pictures!
