Yes, it IS a silly hat. But it is also a two-in-one pattern. The rolled brim hat with a basket weave design is quick and easy and can be worn by itself. The beavers add a touch of whimsy. They can either be worn on the hat, or made as soft toys.

Special techniques used are slip stitch double knitting, Icord, and embroidery.

The hat uses about half a skein of the Alpaca yarn, and the two beavers use less than half a skein of the Encore. A very small amount of a DK weight is needed for the beavers’ teeth. Size 5 and size 3 double pointed needles are used (the 3’s are just for the teeth). A small amount of fiberfill stuffing is needed.
