Bébé Bunny was designed for knitting in the round, in any manner you like (magic loop, circulars, double points). Limbs and ears are knit first and then worked directly into the body as you go so that no sewing is required at the end, except to close the bottom of the body. Even the tail is knit right onto the body as a bobble!

This pattern has been tech-edited and test-knitted.

Finished Size:
You can change the size of your bunny simply by changing yarn weight and needle combinations.

  • Head to toe:
  • Worsted/3.5mm US4 needles = 16 cm / 6-6.25”
  • Fingering/2mm US0 needles = 10 cm / 4”
  • Aran/4.5mm US7 needles = 20 cm / 7.75”

Yarn, Needles and Gauge

  • Sample knit with Knit Picks Comfy Worsted on 3.5mm/US 4 needles, but you can use whatever yarn weight/needle size combination you want; it will just change the finished size of the project
  • 109 yards / 100 metres of worsted-weight yarn for body, limbs and ears. (If you use a different weight of yarn and/or needle size, the required yardage/meterage will differ) and small amounts of yarn for eyes and nose/mouth (If you prefer, you can use safety eyes and/or nose)
  • Gauge is not important. You need only make sure you are using a needle size small enough to create a fabric tight enough that stuffing will not show through. I usually use a needle about 1-2 sizes smaller than the yarn calls for.

Other materials

  • Stuffing

  • Large eyed darning needle

  • Spare knitting needles

  • Removable stitch markers

  • Decorative ribbon, if desired, for neck
