The Bedelia Bonnet is super sweet and cozy; it will keep your baby warm all winter long. If done in lightweight or cotton yarn this would be adorable for spring. The back contouring cuddles your little one’s head while the ties wrap around this chin to form a bow. You’ll love this pattern and maybe learn a few new techniques!

This pattern was written with the assumption that you have a basic understanding of knitting. The pattern features a stitch count for newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years and 2-5 years.

Tools Needed
· 1 ball of sport weight (size 2) yarn or dk weight (size 3) yarn
· Size 4 (3.5 mm) needles on an 8-inch cable or double point needles
· Additional 2 needles to do i-cord while the provisional cast on sits on the cabled needles
· Yarn Needle
· Stitch Marker
· Scissors

Yarn Recommendation: I made this bonnet with Classic Elite Yarn’s Liberty Wool Light, a sport weight yarn. Some similar yarns include Cascade 220 Sport, and Valley Yarn Super Sport. Any sport weight, and some DK weight, yarns should work; just make sure to match the gauge below.

Gauge of Yarn: 24 sts by 28 rows = 4” of stockinette.

Yardage: The newborn size uses about 50 yards of yarn; the 2-5-year-old bonnet uses closer to 120 yards.
