The Bee Hive mitten pattern is for creating you own beautiful and cozy mittens featuring a large bee and bee hives. The thumbs have the waggle dance and the word “Bee” on them. The palm resembles a honeycomb pattern. Worked with two colours in the round, this pattern is worked from charts to create the stunning images. Super cozy and easy to follow if you are familiar with knitting colour work charts. The standard size is for an average woman’s hands, though can be altered by changing needle sizes.

The pattern came about because I thought about making a bee themed mitten as my in laws were bee keepers. I went looking for a nice pattern, but couldn’t find one in the weight and size I usually use for mittens. I found inspiration from the beautiful bee pictures of the “ Bee-Otch” mittens from Drunk Girl Designs, and then made this pattern. With her best wishes, I present this bee mitten pattern! I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do!

This pattern requires 2 balls of semolina (yellow) and 1 ball of coal (black) in Wool of the Andes Worsted from Knit Picks. Some will be left over at the end.

An alteration could be black cuff and black background on the thumb, this will require an additional ball of black.
