This Beehive Tea Cosy is made in a combination of knits and purls, and is knitted in two pieces and sewn together so you can ensure a fit around your teapot’s handle and spout.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the cosy is knitted in acrylic DK yarn on single pointed needles (not in the round), and the top loop is in i-cord tube worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 4mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 6).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in a yellow shade.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, pins for making up, and bee shaped buttons to decorate the cosy.

SIZES
One size only - To fit a standard 6 cup teapot.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, k2tog decreases, and seaming to finish.
