This pattern can be sized from a 22” to 30” chest by changing yarn and needle sizes. Instructions are given.
Body of sweater and sleeves are knit individually up to the armholes and then pieces are joined and knit in one piece.
Approx 22”chest (up to 1 year). Size 1 &3 needles. Sock yarn. 7st/inch (550 yd)
Approx 24” chest (1 - 2yrs). Size 2 & 4 needles. 3ply/fingering weight 6.5 st/inch (600 yd)
Approx 26” chest (2-3 years). Size 3 & 5 needles - Sport weight yarn - 6 st/inch (650 yd)
Approx 28” chest (4-5 years) Size 4 & 6 needles - DK weight yarn - 5.5 st/inch (750 yd)
Approx 30” chest (. Size 5 & 7 needles - Worsted weight yarn - 5 st/inch. (800 yd)
All sizes require a 24”(6-7 years) at least) circular needle of the larger size for the yoke stitches.
