I wanted a traditional tam but couldn’t find the pattern that I envisioned…so I decided to design my own. When tam is completed block tammy on a dinner plate approximately 10 to 11 inches across. I spray the entire hat down with water after it has been stretched over the plate, place it on a folded towel and let dry for 24 hours. This will give you the traditional tam o’shanter shape.
