As autumn evenings grow darker and quieter, there’s a certain calm in preparing for the winter ahead. After the lightness of summer, the urge to knit lace still lingers.

This cowl brings together four distinct lace patterns in a gentle rhythm — and thanks to its generous length, it will keep the cold winds at bay. You can knit it with five mini skeins for a play of colour, or in a single shade for a timeless look. The cowl is worked from the bottom up.
