This shawl was designed explicitely for Beginner + knitters. It relies almost exclusively on knit and purl stitches, with only a few increases and decreases. I know that the new knitters of today witll be the advanced knitters of tomorrow, and wanted to provide an attractive shawl for beginners. It’s also suitable for TV knitting for intermediate and advanced knitters, and as you can see, supports variegated yarns.

This shawl combines a simple knit purl stitch with basic fagotting, making for an unusual, but attractive combination.

Skill level: Beginner + (assuming some minor increasing and decreasing experience.)

The instructions are both charted and written out.

The shawl also includes an optional crocheted edging, and this is the ONLY crochet in the pattern: the optional edging.

The shawl was expertly test knitted by Gay Fehr, who can be reached at: grf1956@gmail.com and it was knit with Malabrigo Arroya yarn , in colorway Zinnias. and measures 22 1/2 inches X 72 - 78 inches.
