Some of my favorite things are fresh knitted cotton washrags. They make washing dishes enjoyable. I made this pattern out of necessity for my own addiction for knitted cotton washrags. This pattern is easy to attempt and is the first project I start all my new students knitting. I have also used this washrag to lure in friends to start knitting. The plan is very simple. I give one of my unsuspecting friends one or two of these washrags. They of course love them and want to know how to get more. I tell them they are easy to knit, show them the basic knit and purl stitches and Wala! Thus starts the enjoyable journey for another soul in the art of knitting.

This is the best first project I have found. It includes all of the basic needs for any new knitter. It is done fast and you have a project that can be used and enjoyed by everyone in the household.
