Beginner's Easy Knit and Purl Stripes Hat
This very simple pattern uses the knit and purls stitches, as well as k2tog.
I used noro’s bonbori for this project, and I love how the color changes are accented by this pattern. The yarn was a little scratchy to work with, but it quickly softened after hand washing with a gentle detergent.
UPDATE JULY 2010: Noro bonbori was originally listed as aran weight, but has since been recategorized as bulky weight. I believe that the actual weight of the yarn is somewhere in between, and recommend that aran weight yarn be used for a small/med fit and bulky weight be used for a l/x-large size. Additionally, one knitter recommended going down in needle size when using bulky weight yarn. I very much recommend that people with a head size of 22” or less use either aran weight yarn or go down to a US 10 needle for better sizing.
This is a great project for using up one skein of noro bonbori, i only had a yard or two left over.
Hope you enjoy this simple and quick knit hat! Please post photos of your FOs, I would love to see them!
