This elongated triangular-shaped shawl is knit from the center back neck down to the bottom hem. It is shaped with the use of YO’s along the center back and side edges to create this very wearable shape. The shawl is knit using 2 contrasting colors, and features rune symbols (representing the birch tree or Beitha), and a large leaf lace pattern. The remainder of the shawl is knit in stockinette and garter-stitch stripes.

If choosing to substitute yarns, be sure to choose a fingering weight yarn with a nice drape; silk blends will work well.

This shawl was designed for the 5th anniversary of The Yarn Guys, Dennis and Jeffrey - both their personal anniversary and their shop anniversary. The pattern is available exclusively through their shop as part of a kit with the custom-dyed yarn from May 20th through June 30, 2016. Please contact them at: The Yarn Guys if you’d like a kit!
