In this document you will find the pattern, templates and tips for making my #Be Kind Cushion. This bright and easy to make cushion features the words ‘Be Kind’ on one side and a ‘#’ on the other.

The cushion is made in 2 pieces which is crocheted together with pom-poms added to the corners as you go. The lettering and symbol are made using the Intarsia technique

I have targeted this pattern at ambitious beginners, so it is essential that you have some basic crochet skills.

In this document you will find:-

  • A written pattern for the cushions
  • A photo tutorial for the colour changing (intarsia) section
  • Templates for both sides of the cushions

The pattern is in UK terminology so if you are used to US, then just swap out any reference to dc (double crochet) with sc (single crochet).

Materials Required

  • 4mm Crochet Hook
  • Double Knit Yarn in grey and neon pink, 1 x 100 gram ball of each. Or any colours you choose
  • Pom-pom maker, whatever type or make you find easiest
  • Yarn Needle
  • Cushion insert measuring between 30cm x 30cm (12”x 12”) for a fairly loose fit and 35cm x 35cm (13.5”x 13.5”) for a tighter fit. After time the yarn may loosen up and this keeps it nice and snug. Alternatively you can just use toy stuffing
