Square brackets indicate the pattern and the number of times it is repeated e.g. sc 1, inc x 6 means single crochet one stitch, increase in the next stitch. Repeat 6 times.
Rounded brackets ( ) indicate the number of stitches you should have after each round/row.

Altering the Size:
Make sure each granny square is about half the length of your book. For example, if your book is 10 inches tall, your square should measure 5 inches. If your square is too small, you can adjust the size by adding more rounds after Round 4 to increase the dimensions.

Off White - 50gms
Pink - 25gms
Hook – 3mm hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Measuring Tape (optional)
