Time to get the umbrella out and wrap up in this pretty lace shawlette! Bella Brella is crescent-shaped and knit from the top down, beginning with a small garter section. The body’s lace looks like fully extended umbrellas, and the lace border is knitted on or “applied” horizontally afterwards while simultaneously binding the piece off. You will need only one skein or about 400 yards of fingering weight yarn to knit this shawlette. Once blocked my shawl measures 6 feet end to end and is 14 inches at its center, deepest point. Written instructions, complete row counts and a chart for the body’s lace sections are included in the pattern.
