♫ The Music ♫
Bendemeer Stream is a nostalgic ballad recounting sweet memories of youth:
“There’s a bower of roses by Bendemeer’s Stream,
And the nightingale sings ‘round it all the day long,
In the time of my childhood ‘twas like a sweet dream,
To sit in the roses and hear the bird’s song,
That bower and its music I’ll never forget…“

And so the beautiful undulating ripples created by this stitch pattern evoke memories of clear sweet waters gently coursing by.

This is a stash-buster pattern – choose from any fingering to worsted-weight yarn you have left over and knit with wild abandon! This sample used worsted, sport and fingering/sock-weight yarns.

The sample changed colours on specific rows (noted in the pattern) but there are so many other options - change colours / yarns:
• with every 8-row repeat,
• for rows 5 and 13 only,
• every row,
• when you run out of a particular colour or
• make the entire cowl in a single yarn.

Arrange your colours in a rainbow, gradient, light/dark contrasts – the adventure is yours! Have fun and experiment with various colours and yarn thicknesses. You can knit this pattern over and over again and come out with stunningly different results every time.
