Benjamin romper and overalls are equally suitable for both boys and girls. They can be used both summer and winter.
The trousers are knitted from the bottom up. Each leg is knitted separately and then placed on a circular needle. The trousers are knitted higher at the back. Socks are also included in the pattern.
 They all have the samen gorgeous “Flower pattern”.

You can use other yarn than what is stated in the pattern if you achieve the right gauge. If you choose a yarn with a different length pr. 50 grams than the yarn used in the pattern, you may need to re-calculate the amount required. Make a swatch, not only to check the gauge, but also to see if the yarn you choose gives the look you want, both in terms of how airy/dense it will be and whether the structure comes out well.
 
Gauge
27 stitches in both stockinette stitch and “Flower pattern” = 10 cm/4” in width.
 
Needles
It is important that you make a swatch to find out which needle size you need to get the correct gauge. You may have to use a different mm/US size than I have used to get the same gauge. In the pattern it says what mm size I have used, but you use the size that is right for you.
 
Stockinette stitch and the “Flower pattern” rib at the legs and socks: 3.25 mm/US 3.0.
When starting on the “Flower pattern” at the waist, I recommend going down a needle size to get it a better fit at the waist. I used 2.75 mm/US 2.0.
Circular needle 60 cm for Magic loop, or double pointed needles for the legs and the socks.
Circular needle 40 cm for the body.

Benjamin romper og selebukse passer like godt til både gutter og jenter. De kan brukes både sommer og vinter.

Buksene strikkes rundt, nedenfra og opp. Hvert ben strikkes for seg, og settes deretter inn på samme rundpinne. Buksene strikkes med forhøyning bak på rumpen.

Sokkene er også inkludert i oppskriften.

De har alle det nydelige «Kornblomst»-mønsteret, som også er brukt i «Benjamin babysett».

Du kan gjerne bruke annet garn enn det som er oppgitt i oppskriften, så lenge du oppnår rett strikkefasthet. Husk at du vil trenge mer eller mindre garn, dersom garnet du benytter har en annen løpelengde (antall meter på 50 gram), enn garnet i oppskriften. Strikk en prøvelapp, ikke bare for å sjekke strikkefasthet, men også for å se om garnet du velger gir det utseende du ønsker, både når det gjelder hvor luftig/tett det blir, og om strukturen kommer godt frem.
