Beorn is a Northman, a Shape-shifter, Skinchanger, and the last of his kind. He has the ability to change his form between that of large man and large bear. He was held in captivity (as were most of his kind), enslaved by Azog The Defiler, escaped, and continues to wear a chain on his wrist as a reminder of that time.

This is a companion to the Beorn mitts, which is for both fingerless and full mittens. You can make both the hat and fingerless mitts from one skein of Sheepy Feet - but with less than one yard left over.

Both Beorn Hat and Mitts are available written for worsted weight yarn as well.

This is a snug-fitting, short depth hat. If you want to make it deeper, add a few rounds of stockinette!
