The Berber Mosaic Afghan is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

The PDF has 23 easy to read charts for each pattern included, with corresponding written instructions (using US terms).

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

If using Stylecraft Special Aran (as shown in my example) you will need approximately 17 skeins for the main body of the blanket.
9 Skeins of Colour A and 8 Skeins of Colour B.
This will create a blanket approx 165cm x 105cm

Add another 2 - 3 skeins for the border - depending on what you decide to do with the border.

You can of course create any size you want as it’s a simple repeating pattern. You can chop and change the individual patterns around, you can take some out or repeat some. Entirely up to you - so go for it. Be creative! :)

I hope you enjoy creating your own Berber mosaic afghan.
