Colorful go-with-everything mitts, a stash busting project influenced by my years in art school at UC Berkeley in the early 70’s. Every pair will be a work of art!

Use your leftover variegated sock/fingering wt. yarns with black duplicate stitch and accent rows to create a masterpiece!

Great for using up precious bits of handspun too!

NOTE: The photo on the computer is a painting, Komposition 1919, by Paul Klee, one of my favorite artists : D

2016: If you decide to knit Berkeley I’ve come across a neat technique that replaces duplicate stitch & or intarsia in-the-round, for knitting the black contrasting bits. It’s a technique for knitting that uses invisible floats to carry the contrasting yarn & it is kind of a twist on duplicate knitting. The technique is taught via video included with this pattern (not mine).
