This fun hat has a double layered brim which can be reinforced by adding a piece of craft foam between layers. Crochet with a smaller hook to make a snug hat as shown, or use a larger hook for more slouch.

I wrote this pattern as I made one hat and then crocheted a test hat, so any feedback/errata notes are appreciated.
